Terry Says I’ve been thinking about the various ways you can make money betting. One of the post popular methods is to follow a tipster and that’s what I do for a lot of my betting. Tipsters get a bad reputation and in far too many cases, the critics are right. There are too many chancers out there who make up results, fudge prices or in some cases make up the name of the horse! Often the big name guys are the worse. In racing circles, Derek “Thommo” Thompson is a legend for all the wrong reasons. It may be an urban myth but I once heard of an experiment where someone put Thommo’s tips up against selections randomly generated from a tortoise crawling on the racing post. Needless to say, the tortoise performed better over the test period (The modest tortoise turned down subsequent offers of job as a racing pundit!). But not all tipsters are bad. In fact, you’d be surprised at the number of genuine tipsters out there. In my mind there are two kinds of tipster. The first are the sort that will shout about all the big winners they’ve had with no mention of the losers. Who cares if you tipped a 16-1 winner if you’re giving out 10 horses a day and your losses far outweigh your gains! The second sort is the tipster who is prepared to proof their performance warts and all. These are the guys we keep tabs on at www.secretbettingclub.com. These guys have the guts to put their service under scrutiny. I’m a firm believer in following tipsters, the right tipsters that is. You’re paying for someone’s expertise and or time. There are no guarantees, but for the most part, tipsters who are prepared to be transparent, generally perform well for you. “Try this super new wonder system that’s made me £100,000 this year alone”. Not all systems are bad, the best ones provide a breakdown of past results so you can get an idea of the sort of thing you’re buying. This breakdown should including at least 12 months worth of returns. I’ve lost count of the number of systems I’ve seen shouting about their returns from the last 2 months. 2 months is no time in betting! Lady luck can play such a huge role and betting at random (or hiring a trusty tortoise) could conceivably make good profits in the short term. The Next Week In Betting We weren’t a million miles off with our All Blacks handicap bet last week as England fell to pieces in the second half of the game. This week is a quieter affair with the weekend’s football action the main draw. There are some pretty uninspiring prices around with Arsenal at 1.37, Liverpool at 1.75, Chelsea at 1.61 and Manchester United 1.18 to beat their respective opposition. I’m not one for accumulators, but the acca pays out 3/1 at Boylesports if that floats your boat. Speaking of silly bets, there’s plenty of them around at the moment with Christmas coming up. The classic “Will it snow on Christmas Day?” bet is up and running. The bet is split by location, but the odds of there being a white Christmas in London is currently 5/1. I hate the program with a passion, but ‘whoever wins X factor’ looks a shoe in for the Christmas number 1 market at 1.20. There’s no half naked Bill Nighy on the cards and the X factor PR machine has once again been working overtime. You can even bet on what is going to be the top video game for Christmas. The current fave is Call of Duty at 4/6. I say a silly bet, but anyone who works as a buyer in the retail industry could clean up here if you’ve got advanced order figures. The India test series starts again on Thursday and aside from that entirely sensible coin flipping market, there are some interesting odds on offer. England are currently 7/1 best price for the series after the drubbing they received in the one dayers. The correct score market has them at 33/1 to win 2-0 and 8/1 to win 1-0. There’s disquiet in the camp about going back to India after the terrible shootings so I’m wary of getting involved in the outright score market before I see the squad, even though I think there could be some value in England. If pushed, I’d say there’s a bit of value in the draw at 5/2. ******************************************************************************** Featuring up to date and full reviews of some of the most talked about services (good and bad) such as On The Oche, Queribus, Grey Horse Bot & Isiris Racing amongst many others. 3. Tipping Legends Column All Jump races, whether Hurdles or Steeplechase, are divided into Classes and Grades.
Classes 2 - 7 4. The Winabobatoo Weekender We’re heading towards Christmas and the mid-point of the football season. It’s been a fascinating 4 months so far. The Winabobatoo Match Ratings covers all games down to the Conference, and that is where we will go for this weekend’s bet. When I advise bets in the Winabobatoo Betting Magazine, the prices used are the best prices available from just 5 leading bookmakers, and the profit figures I show are based on the same figures. By shopping around it is quite possible to beat these figures and better the profits I declare. This weekend’s bet is shown in my magazine at 1.91 (10/11). I sent this out to members on Thursday when more books had it at this price, but now there’s just three of four offering that price. Still worth the risk at those odds. Torquay vs Cambridge is a Blue Square Premier match. Have a bet on Torquay to beat Cambridge at 1.90 available with Stan James, Boyles or Betfred. Good luck with your betting. Hi everybody, What do you do when luck doesn't want to have anything with you? When the bad run just won't end? Well, if you're a short-term scammer, it's not a problem, you just disappear and come back in a couple of months under a new name, with a new service and with a new set of promises to your potential customers. If you're thinking long-term, all you can do is stick with your methods, learn from your mistakes and wait for the good days to come back again. Let's hope that the shock results will happen elsewhere this time. 6/12/2008 BLUE SQUARE PREMIER Lewes – STEVENAGE 2 (1.91 @StanJames) 4 units You probably know everything about Lewes' problems already, but here's a little update – they barely managed to beat Selsey (four leagues below) in the Sussex Cup last Tuesday and their leading scorer Taylor has just left them for Staines (two leagues below) – not a small problem when you're playing 4-5-1 with the player who just left upfront. They had four consecutive defeats before the 2:0 home win against fellow strugglers Grays, but they had four home defeats before that and if Stevenage take them seriously (which I'm sure they will after their own terrible results lately), there can only be one winner in this match. While Lewes have just lost their best scorer, Stevenage's best scorer Morison will probably return from the ankle injury that ruled him out of last Saturday's match against Wrexham (lost 1:2, but were very unlucky not to get at least a point from that match), but even if he doesn't, Stevenage should win this match comfortably. After four consecutive defeats (if we include the Setanta Shield defeat at Ebbsfleet this Tuesday, which was basically Stevenage's reserve team), it's now or never for Stevenage – and a couple of very good loan signings they managed to make before the transfer deadline can only help us with this bet. (1.91 also at Blue Square, 1.90 at Expekt btw, 1.85 at Bwin, 1.83 at Ladbrokes...) 6. £25.45 risk free profits with Sporting Bet. If you are looking to make some extra cash each week you could do a lot worse than take advantage of some of the sign-up bonus offers from highlighted bookies and casinos that can help make you anything from an extra fiver to £1,000.
