Keep a look out for The Weekend Wager hitting your inbox's every Friday afternoon. CONTENTS 1. Terry Says ******************************************************************************** 1. Terry Says I’m not renowned for my economic prowess but even I was shocked to see the UK Interest rates cut to a measly 1% this week, with the knock on effect being a miserable return for anyone looking to make a bob or two from their savings. With the financial markets as reliable as a tip from Derek Thompson, it means a whole number of traditional ways of making money have gone up in smoke. For my money it leaves sports betting in pole position as the best method for anyone wanting to actually follow something that will make them a nice wedge. My colleague Mike told me about one chap he heard of this week who is actually moving lock, stock and barrel to Australia off the back of money he has made betting in 2008. Don’t think you could do that off the back of a 1% interest rate on your savings these days! For me, sports investing is really coming into its own right now. My colleague recently told me about one guy he heard of this week who is actually moving lock, stock and barrel to Australia off the back of money he has made betting in 2008. Don’t think you could do that off the back of a 1% interest rate on your savings these days! This is an extreme example, but it’s fair to say that my portfolio of betting tipsters and systems has smashed returns from the stock market over the last year (over the last decade even!). I don't put all my eggs in one basket - I spread my risk across a number of tipsters and systems so if one has a bad year, the others usually more than make up for it. That’s not to say everyone in betting is worth following and we have our own fair share of bad eggs. Apart from the ubiquitous dodgy tipsters, there are the system vendors who constantly churn out a new wonder system each week. These vendors use the same tried and tested marketing spiel to get your mouth watering and your wallet open. Each product usually will (delete where appropriate) change your life/ make you rich beyond your wildest dreams/ more attractive to the opposite sex/ and no doubt discover the secret to eternal life while they are at it. Here at the Secret Betting Club we have been tracking the bad eggs for years, so our members are always aware of their latest releases, with most of their products having a shelf-life of a few months before disappearing into a puff of internet smoke. It is still sad when we hear of non Secret Betting Club members who get caught out by them. After many years scouring the internet, we have built up a solid core of profitable services that we track and monitor. Best of all, we are finding more and more excellent betting services that are here for the long-term. It really is amazing how many ways you can squeeze a profit and hit the bookies hard. Whether it's horse racing, football or even darts, the best tipsters and systems consistently spot value prices that in the long term make returns that would make those city boys blush (if they had any shame). Until next Friday… Terry Allen 2. The Next Week In Betting This weekend it’s a case of seeing what sports survive the cold snap with a host of racing meetings and football games being cancelled already and no doubt more casualties to come. Its interesting how Russia, Scandinavia and Canada manage to cope with a bit of snow, whereas here in England we fall apart. Perhaps the horse racing authorities can look into putting on some live snow plough racing if it happens again, after all it might be better than some of the racing fare this week. February time means we see the return of the oval ball as the 6 nations gets up and running this weekend with Wales 2/1 clear favourites to retain their crown. They start off away at Scotland on Sunday and the -14 handicap on offer for them to win at 9/4 with Stan James jumps out at me. Italy are also an improving side and I am going to lay them against picking up the wooden spoon at 1.59 on Betfair, I feel that is a value price lay and am looking for them to cause a couple of surprises. Football wise we had the case of the tictac goal midweek with ITV bizarrely cutting to adverts for the mint sweet just as Everton scored the winner after 118 minutes of a scrappy contest. As one wag put it, he would rather watch tic-tacs then listen to the stations ‘expert analyst’ Andy Townsend talk tac-tics, and I won’t disagree. Thankfully ITV are not covering this weeks big Premier League games with the North London derby the pick of the bunch. Last time Arsenal and Spurs met, they met we had a 1.01 in-running at Betfair beaten as Spurs got 2 late goals to draw 4-4, and while I think its unlikely we will see another 8 goal thriller, I think the draw looks a good option at 23/10 with Bet365. Liverpool take their weary legs down to the seaside to face Portsmouth in the Saturday evening game and I have heard a few murmurs from some punters that Pompey at 5/1 best priced with Corals may offer value. As Mike from Winabobatoo pointed out in his Monday magazine, although Pompey were beaten 3-1 by Fulham last week, they actually had 12 shots on goal to Fulham’s 6 and their main problem is they cant defend. Trying to play offside when you’re in the opponents half is not something you would expect from a Tony Adams side. Perhaps a cheeky bet on over 2.5 goals in this game is worthwhile considering it’s currently 2.34 at Betfair, as I would back even Dirk Kuyt to score against this lot. Bearing in mind the arctic conditions over here in Blighty, it’s most bizarre to see the English players running around in very hot conditions out in the Caribbean. Andy Flintoff is my tip for top bowler over the series at 7/2 and steamed in on the first day with little sign of the side strain that dogged him in the lead up. The West Indies will be no pushovers and I still feel the 8/13 on England to win the series was far too short. I also was happy that New Zealand did for Australia in the first ODI last week at 11/5 and the 7/2 I highlighted on them to win the series overall is long gone after they took at 2-0 lead earlier today. Strangely I see New Zealand are still 6/4 outsiders to win again with Ladbrokes in the 3rd ODI on Sunday and I have taken a bite out of that price already. Perhaps the bookies are ignorant to the fact the Black Caps have won the last 5 games against the Aussies in this format, and they clearly have the psychological edge. Anyone who watches Sky Sports News will also not have failed to notice their promotion of the Darts Premier League which starts next Thursday. We have our own recommended Darts expert here at SBC and already have a number of advised bets on for this tournament. These live Darts games I am told generate a fantastic atmosphere and I might just have to get myself down to one of them to sample it for myself. Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor is the Tiger Woods of Darts and is 4/11 with Ladbrokes to win outright and with most bookies pricing up this event nowadays there are lots of ways to make a profit if you know your arrows! Good luck with whatever you’re having a punt on this weekend. ******************************************************************************** 3. Tipping Legends Column
In my opinion, I consider jockeys to be of only minor importance at the Festival, because when you think about, all the top English and Irish jockeys are there, riding the very best horses available. I have always believed that it is 95% horse and 5% jockey as bad horses don’t win good races. The stats back this up as AP McCoy had several blank years at the meeting and has ridden 15 winners to date. Peter Scudamore was Champion jockey but went years before his first Festival winner.

4. The Winabobatoo Weekender The weather played havoc with the midweek fixtures and the weekend games could be disrupted too. Winabobatoo members had 6 bets lined up for the midweek but only one actually took place. Thankfully it was a winner and got February off to a positive start for us. I think the safest bet weather-wise is to stick with the Premiership, so we’ll stay there for our weekend tip as Sunderland are taken to beat Stoke. Stoke have been a potent force from Rory Delap’s long throw-ins this season but he is due to start a 3 match ban for his dismissal last weekend. This doesn’t help Stoke’s cause. The Winabobatoo evidence was already stacked in Sunderland’s favour. This extra positive is another reason to be hopeful of a home win. Stoke’s ability to score may be somewhat diminished. The price for a Sunderland win is 5/6 (1.83) and this is available with several bookmakers. Have a bet on Sunderland to beat Stoke at 5/6 (1.83) with BetFred, BlueSquare, and SkyBet Good luck with your betting. Mike Lindley (www.winabobatoo.co.uk )

Hi everybody,
The stats don't lie:
I can't even remember the last free pick that was lost (of course I can, it was back in November) – we had six winning bets and one void bet (it was an improvised draw no bet; the match was postponed, but it was played a few days later under the same odds) in the last seven. It makes me think of what Steve Carrell said in The Office US (I'm a big fan of the original, Ricky Gervais' Office of course, but the American version turned out to be a very funny show too), “I'm not supersticious, but I'm a littlesticous”. So, is this going to be another winning bet? I sure hope so. Can this run last forever? Of course not. Both good and bad runs are perfectly normal, but the most important thing for me is to keep the long-term RoI above 12% - and it's currently at 13.4%. January was great, I've made +43.5 units profit and the RoI was 34.3%. Good times.

BLUE SQUARE SOUTH
AD-HOC DRAW-NO-BET: Bognor – BASINGSTOKE 2 (2.10 @StanJames) 3 units & X (3.50 @StanJames) 1 unit
The original odds on an away win were 2.25 at Coral btw, but that's now gone. Bognor have just lost another couple of players – including winger Castles who was one of their key players lately (do you know how many guys played in both Bognor's first match of the season and their last weekend's match? Two) and they're bound to lose a match soon – they have four consecutive draws. They're the second worst home team in the BS South (only Fisher are worse), they have only one home win (vs poor Fisher) so far (five draws, eight defeats)... In fact, they have only two wins this season altogether – both against poor Fisher. Basingstoke are the second worst away team in the league (they only managed to win at Bromley and Weston), but they have a much better team than in August, they only have two defeats (at promotion candidates Eastleigh and at improved Newport) in the last ten (they managed to beat Bromley 2:0 last Tuesday, and a point at Hayes last Saturday is another fine result – I just saw the match highlights, both teams could've taken all the points) and I'm pretty sure they won't lose at Bognor – a draw could happen though and that's why I'll be careful and stake an extra unit on a draw (we'll lose half a unit if the match ends with a draw), but my odds for an away win would never go above 1.91.
(2.10 for ad away win also at Bet365, Blue Square, Bwin, Paddy Power, Victor Chandler...) Read our review of Skeeve's service
6. £75 from a £25 deposit We recently featured JACKPOTJOY and their £1,000,000+ jackpot on Deal or No Deal, well that prize has gone but you can still get a 100% bonus and we have found a nifty little way to play it.
We must stress that on its own this is not risk free. However you could make it so by obtaining some risk free profits from some of our other free bets offers and then using some of the winnings to have a go at this one, always better when you are playing with someone else's money!
The bonus with has minimal wagering requirements (8 x deposit, very low these days) but it is what is called a “sticky bonus” that can never be withdrawn, but if you can get some value from it by doubling up using it before you start to wager it you should draw a nice little quick profit.
Naturally you could stick the whole lot on a hand of BJ or an even money shot on Roulette or how about this idea using the Colour Wheel game.
None of this wagering counts towards your requirement as Colour Wheel is an excluded game so then move over to Lucky Dice to wager the £200 required (for a £25 deposit). Here you can cover all six numbers and then throw the dice, at £1 a number that is just 34 games and it is very quick, you can check you progress in the My Account area to tell you what you have left to wager.
After that then withdraw and the original bonus amount will be deducted but are hopefully still nicely in profit. Naturally you could lose your initial £25 so again we must stress that on its own this is not risk free. However you could make it so by obtaining some risk free profits from some of our other free bets offers and then using some of the winnings to have a go at this one, always better when you are playing with someone else's money!
In testing, we have had a £25 loser but a £75 winner from the £25 deposit so we think it is worth a go.
